A year of changes tor the OVA resulting from the decision made at the 2000 AGM to examine and revise its Constitution in order to bring the organisation and management up to date. To that end our Treasurer, Ron Mackintosh, prepared Business Plan 2002-2005, which received the approval of the AGM in March 2003.
The previous Constitution has been replaced by a Memorandum and Articles of Association which has been published on the OVA Web site. For copies for OVs without access to the site please write to our new office - Queen Victoria School Old Victorians' Association, Dunblane, Perthshire FK15 OJY.
The annual Reunion was very successful this year. The Headmaster gave a very informative briefing on the proposal to redevelop the School through an Establishment Development Plan (see HM's notes). A major feature of fund raising for Centenary 2008 will be a new Music Centre and at the AGM the Association pledged £1,000 as a starter for the Fund.
The salute at the Reunion Parade Sunday was taken by 3094 Lt Col Bill Common RHF, newly returned from a posting in Canada (Batus). At the Reception following the Service three presentations were made; firstly, to Mr Douglas Stewart, Principal Teacher of Mathematics, Life Membership of the Association, in recognition of over 30 years service to the School; secondly, a

copy of the 'Bogota Bandit' the Biography of the late Charlie Mitten, undoubtedly the best footballer produced by the School; thirdly, the presentation of Colin (Jock) Stewart's Olympic Chef's White Jacket badges and medallions to be on show in the archives. When 2701 Colin (Jock) Stewart left QVS inl961, the then Headmaster advised him that the only career he could envisage for him was to be a cook! Well he did, via the Army Catering Corps, emigrated to Australia to become one of Australia's top Chefs! Jock organised the meal for our Farewell Dinner on the OZ99 Tour with a special QVS cake adorned with School insignia and in 2000 he was appointed Administrator of the Australian Junior Culinary Olympics Team.
Another presentation to the School earlier this year was the Yule Memorial Bench', sited behind the Flag Pole donated by the sister of the three Yule brothers 1723, 1775 and 1808, a good place to relax on a sunny day!
Finally, 2349 Donald MacDonald felt that the appointment of the first female Pipe Major and Drum Major deserved special recognition so he composed two pipe Marches entitled 'Lynsey McAulay' and 'Lindsey Farquharson', respectively, printed them on parchment and asked the Association to frame and present them to two special young ladies. The marches will be included in the portfolio of Pipe tunes composed by Victorians which Pipe Major Ross is preparing for a QVS Centenary Book of Pipe Tunes.
