The 'Wavell Entertainment Committee' (or Miss MacDougall as she prefers to be known) organised lots of trips to suit as many tastes and pockets as possible. We've been sailing Loch Katrine on the Maid of the Loch, cheering the (gorgeous) dancers at 'Oh What a Night', wailing in style at the Halloween party, thrilled by Santa Claus, bouncing like maniacs on the bouncy castles at the barbecue and screaming our heads off at M&D's theme park. All that of course had to be fitted in between cinema trips, swimming, discos and last but never least. . . shopping.
All this could not have token place without our loyal staff, so this year we thought we'd like to take the opportunity to thank them for all they do for us with our own special award ceremony to celebrate the 'Wonders of Wavell'.
The first award is the 'Barrs - made from Girders Cup', awarded to Miss MacDougall for keeping the profits of our national drink afloat (almost) single-handedly. And that's not to mention her hard work in the field of Mars Bars consumption.
The next prize is the 'Willie Wonka Award', presented to Ms Taylor for her tireless endeavors to provide us with as much chocolate as possible, in her revamped tuck shop.

Miss Johnston mokes us extremely proud to hold on to the 'Lee Evans Trophy' for unparalleled clumsiness, whatever the task. We would like to think she retains the title through dedication to a grueling training schedule, but she assures us she is just a natural!
Miss Scott retains the 'Mike Cup' - a special award for sportsmen and women everywhere who have achieved the ultimate accolade of their career, managing to own a pair of trainers to co-ordinate with every outfit they own.
Miss Blackwood has scooped a new award this year 'The Eminem Stan Medal' for truly devoted fans the world over. Despite the changing tides in music (invention of taste) Miss B has loyally supported Sir Cliff Richard since ... at least the dawn of time.
Mrs Thornton is this year's proud winner of the 'Rolf Harris Cup', presented to people who have offered wild and wonderful artistic creations to walls everywhere.
Mr Onslow is the current champion of the 'Yves St Laurent Award' for dedicated followers of fashion. Whether in combat gear or silver lame he is a true inspiration for fashionists everywhere. When he leaves us it

will be a sad day for style at QVS . . . and we are sure Switzerland won't know what has hit them.
Mrs MacDonald holds this years 'Michael McFlatley Trophy' - well known for her dulcet tones. She can often be heard encouraging pupils with, 'arms up! elevation! knees back!'
Finally we'd like to mention Miss Courtney, our most recent member and, sadly, one whose had the shortest stay. In honour of her time here we'd like to present her with 'The Confetti Award' and wish her all the very best for her forthcoming marriage.
As well as the House Staff, there are other people who ensure that Wavell runs smoothly, so we'd like to present Mrs Kean and Mrs BIyth with the 'Persil and Pledge Shield' for making sure that Wavell House and Wavell girls continue to maintain the highest standards at Queen Victoria School.
A final thanks has to go to the prefects and tuck shop girls who work so hard and that's just when they are trying to put P7 to bed! Their help around the house is greatly appreciated. Many thanks to Mhairi and her team for all they do. Have a great summer everyone, see you next year
