Right; House notes need to be done. Let me see, what did we get up to this year? Suppose I'd better mention the new House. It really is a spanker of a place to work in.
KNOCK KNOCK What is it Tommy? Sir, can we get a chippy run tonight? Aye, well we'll see Tommy. It'll depend on how the tidy up goes tonight.
Now, where was I? Ah yes. House notes. We'd quite a few trips as usual. (Gets distracted by fracas outside of House office)
Dean, why on earth are you trying to poke William in the eye? Sir (said with great indignation) William keeps trying to trip me up. I didn't sir, honestly (said with even greater indignation). He's been calling me names all day!
Now I've told you before (said with affected patience through gritted teeth) two wrongs do not make a right, so try to be more tolerant with each other. If you don't behave you wont get a chippy later onl
Now, let's try again. I'll mention the Christmas

party. Bonfire Night and Hallowe'en. Door suddenly barges open.
Sir! Sir! Calm down Phil and try not to shout, I can feel a headache coming on! I booked the Playstation next, but Alistair's not letting me on 'cause I wouldn't let him play with my micro scooter last December! Phil, it's April for heaven's sake! What are you on about?
But sir!
Okay , okay I'll sort it out.
Returns to office fifteen minutes later with high blood pressure.
Phew! Let's get on. Loads of Murrayfield trips this year and a great night out at Saturday Night Fever. How will I fit that in? Rumbling of a stampede comes trundling down the stairs, accompanied by shrieks and screams.
Hoi! Cool it you lot! What's going on? Sirl The S1 's are doing a Rookie round up! (said with glee!) Oh they are, are they? I'll soon see about that!
Twenty minutes later, near a state of total

exhaustion Housemaster returns to the office. Right, let's see, ah yes, mustn't forget the vote of thanks to everyone. Another knock on the door.
What is it? (said very grumpily)
Sir? Hi Lindsey, what can I do for you? Do you want me and the other girls to organise the chippy run, pick the video for tonight and start getting the wee ones ready for their showers and inspection? Lindsey, that would be great. Thanks a lot
Forty minutes later the House is nice and tidy, shoes are all polished, all the young ones showered and in their PJ's and they're munching into their chippies.
I've not got much further with my notes, but I have noticed that we've got a good set of pupils in the House (by and large), a reliable group of junior prefects and a cracking bunch of senior prefects - thanks Lins, Amy, Lauren, Laura, Chloe and Emma Thanks also to the House Team. Midnight-all's quiet-going to my bed! G.C.
