This season's hockey has been the best so far without a doubt. At the start of the season we were agoin faced with the introduction of new players. These new players were one of the best assets the team could possibly ask for.
The season started off a bit slowly (it usually does after a holiday) but rapidly became an outstanding season in all aspects. The biggest improvement was definitely the defence. Problems occurred, they were analysed, put into training and then applied to a match, which I found was definitely the best way to approach our problems, and it proved to be successful. Lindsey Farquharson and the rest of the defence worked extremel hard on applying the shadowing technique into a game situation and making it successful. All credit to our Coach, Miss Scott, for recognising our problems and teaching us ways to get around them.
In a lot of our matches the only disadvantage we were faced with was the different conditions of pitch used. The hardest to play on was blaze but, again, because of our determination and

enthusiasm we didn't let this minor problem stand in our way. The best pitch to play on was probably the water based one. The ball was passed very quickly and movement off the ball was always supported.
Communication is the only aspect now which I think needs improved and, in the future, good communication allied to our excellent teamwork and motivation could make us invincible. We aren't far of it now.
As a team, the game remembered most this season for motivation, teamwork, support and enthusiasm, was the second-half of the match against Mary Erskine's. In the first-half of this game we were down 3-0. Due to this we weren't getting our hopes up by thinking we still had a chance that was until we got our 5-minute feedback session from Miss Scott at half time. She told us what to do to win, or at least come back, and all we had to do

was put it into a game situation. Due to Miss Scott's much appreciated support and enthusiasm towards us we were able, eventually, to draw 3-3.
Overall, well done to everybody and, especially, to Miss Scott for her excellent coaching, Lindsey Forquharson and her defence buddies for outstanding improvement and applied shadowing techniques, and last but not least Sarah Moore, for her excellent contribution to the last two games, making our hockey season finish with well remembered goals.
Sadly, we will be losing an excellent defence player - Fiona Gonnon. I'd like to thank her for her outstanding contribution and teamwork. We will miss her dearly but hope she goes on to do better things in the future! It has been a great season and we look forward to the next one. Lisa Milligan S5
