Mr John Calderwood, 132e Rannoch Road, Perth, was presented with the Imperial Service Medal and Certificate by Brigadier J. C. Monteith, C.B.E., M.C., Commander, Highland Area, at a ceremony in Highland House, Perth, on Saturday 26th April. Aged 65, Mr Calderwood was educated at Queen Victoria School, Dunblane from 19th September, 1914, to 22nd December, 1917, and in the latter year enlisted as a Boy Piper in The Black Watch. Queen's Barracks, Perth, and for the last three years of his nine-year Army engagement, with the 2nd Battalion at Fort George. Mr Calderwood was employed as Caretaker/ Messenger at the Infantry Records and Pay Office, Perth, from 1930 to 1941, was recalled to the Colours with the 10th Battalion The Black Watch from 1941 to 1946 and continued with the Records Office in Perth from 1946 to 1964. From then until his retiral early this year he was employed in the Officers' Mess, Highland Area, St. Leonard's Bank, Perth.
