"WITH the School year stretching behind us we look back to select from the multitude of events and activities those which we think particularly deserve mention and in which we feel you will be interested. If we leave something out, forget someone well deserving of mention, please forgive us, for we walk the inevitable tight-rope between all or' nothing.
We have so much to report this year between these pages that it is quite obvious that, if we are to give any space to the literary efforts of the boys, when these are forthcoming, we must revert to two issues per annum.   We therefore announce the return of the Christmas number but give solemn warning that if the School wants something more in its magazine than lists of events and happenings, of which it is already fully aware, then the solution lies in its own hands,
Staff changes have been rather sweeping this session and are listed below. We would however like to express our particular gratitude to Major D. H. McNeil and Major (Q.M.) J. Allison. The former, who left to take up a staff appointment with I Div., was a headmaster who strove hard towards the modernisation of the School and the raising of its academic standards. The latter was an administrative officer of exceptional ability who was constantly on the look out for improved methods and improved conditions for all concerned.

We welcome in their places, respectively.Major L. D. Cowley, E.R.D., B.A., Ph.D., late 2 i/c and Chief Instructor, No. 3 Higher Education Centre, B.A.O.R., and Major (Q.M.) A. Bradley, M.B.E., Seaforth High-
landers.
We will say no more except to assure you that we are very much alive, actively and constantly alive—with soccer, rugger, cricket, marbles, maths, boxing, history, hide-and-seek, fights, friendships, sledging, French, drillings (square and dental), art, woodwork, English, sick parades, sports, geography, swimming, visits, carols, theatricals, parties, science, hobbies, snowballing, hikes, camps,
lemonade, gob-stoppers, etc., etc., and that this all adds up to a school hard at work. We ask you to read all about it in the pages that follow and hope that you find pleasure in so doing.
